Cycle for a Cause: CYCLATHON

In case you don’t know what Cycle for a Cause is, it is a group exercise class that was launched in the spring of 2012. Participants consist of UND students, faculty, and staff. Every mile cycled in the class is logged and matched by community sponsors such as Scheels, Hugo’s, and the Ski and Bike Shop. Sponsors donate 10 cents per mile per participant. 100% of the proceeds go to a local cause.

So…the Cycle for a Cause Cyclathon is an indoor race on stationary spin bikes that will conclude the semester-long fundraise/group exercise class, Cycle for a Cause. Each Cyclathon team consists of seven cyclists that ride for 20 minutes each. There is a 5 minute break between each rider to record mileage and change cyclists. ALL of the proceeds will be donated to Altru’s Heart and Vascular Center for research. How cool is that?!

Each team must consist of 7 riders and must appoint a Team Captain. Each team member is required to raise a minimum of $20 in pledges to support the race mission (checks can be made out to Altru’s Heart and Vascular Center). All of the pledges must be returned to the Wellness Center Welcome Desk by 9:00am on Friday, December 7th.

ALL skill levels are welcome. Non-Wellness Center members can participate but must be sponsored by a Wellness Center member. The Team Registration Form can be picked up at the WELLNESS CENTER WELCOME DESK. Registration opens Thursday, November 1st and closes Tuesday, December 1st.

So go get signed up and join the Cause and the fun!!!
